Moving Day Activities For Your Kids

Wondering how to keep your kids occupied on the day of your move? The activities might be simpler than you suspect to coordinate. Check out these ideas:

#1 Official Moving Day Activity Kit

Create and gift your kids with an official moving day activity kit. This kit can be as involved or as simple as your like. But, this gift can build their excitement and perhaps even curb any nervousness or anxiety they may be feeling about the move.

Items that might go inside the kit could include: markers or crayons, a coloring book, stickers, playdough, and more.

#2 Comfort Items

If your child has a special stuffed animal, blanket, or other item for comfort, be sure that this item is with your child (or at least on-hand) throughout the day.

Moving can be a big adjustment for children, so having items that make them feel comfortable and secure can help to soothe their nerves.

#3 Bubbles

If you are moving during a season of warm weather, blowing bubbles might provide your children with hours of entertainment and distraction.

#4 Deck of Cards

During a move, cards have two particularly convenient qualities: First, cards are versatile. And second, cards are compact.

#5 Dance Party

Designate a space, perhaps outside on the lawn or inside a particular room, for a dancefloor. Simply play music from your phone, mark out a space, and let the dance party commence.
