On The Move During The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

Want to celebrate the holiday season while not overloading your home just before your move? Here are three gift-giving, party hosting, and decoration ideas for those of you on the brink of a move:

#1 Gift experiences.

Rather than wrapping boxes and bags of gifts, perhaps this is the year to gift experiences, like trips or other adventures.

Whether it’s a trip to Disney World with the kids, a night out to watch that band you have always wanted to see live, or a rejuvenating weekend at the spa, gifts come in all shapes and sizes and, most importantly, not all of them require storage space.

#2 Host party off-site.

If you are the hostess-with-the-mostess (and even if you are not), a soon-to-be move does not have to prevent you from pulling out all of the stops for your holiday party. Why not rent a space outside your home for the party? You and your guests can bring your holiday cheer to a new location. Perhaps you rent out space at a bar, restaurant, cabin, or somewhere else.

Alternatively, you could co-host the holiday party with a friend or family member. (You provide the expertise and the other person provides the space, sort of speak.)

#3 Rent temporary storage space

If you are thinking to yourself, “No way. Holiday traditions must be upheld this year!” why not rent temporary storage space?

Depending on the timeline of your move and your holiday festivities, there are at least two approaches: 1) Before the festivities, pack up your more permanent items (furniture, clothes, etc.) and place in storage, or 2) after the festivities, pack the holiday décor and gifts, into boxes and transport them directly to the storage unit.

Your move does not have to get in the way of your holiday cheer this season. Give us a call and see how we can help make your move eazy!
