Packing Up Your Shoebox

Maybe you live in a studio or one-bedroom apartment or perhaps you live in quaint, cottage-like home. If your home sweet home happens to be a small space, this does not mean your move will necessarily be small-scale.

Here are three questions (from moving.com) to consider when moving to or from a small space:

#1 What is my move timeline?

Need to move out of the old and into the new in just a few short days or weeks? Now is not the time for a DIY job. By calling in the professionals, your move will happen on time and with all items attended to, exactly as you need them to be.

#2 How much time and energy will my move cost me?

Most of us often find ourselves short on time. If you are moving for a new job or during a school/work break, your to-do list is likely cluttered with a whole range of other items.

If you are strapped for time, take this reality into account. Leaving your moving tasks to the professionals can help you stay on top of all the other items on your to-do list.

#3 Do I want to move everything?

Moving is an excellent opportunity to purge or donate unwanted items. Take a look around your abode and determine what items, big or small, you might want to part with.

If you are downsizing, you will likely have to consider either thinning out your things or renting a storage unit ahead of your move.
