Your Move Amidst The COVID-19 Crisis

The current COVID-19 pandemic has halted and altered much of our daily activities. However, as an essential business, moving companies continue to operate without interruption.

If you have an upcoming move, do not worry– your move can still go forward as planned.

As Mover Search Marketing suggests, you can expect that your moving crew will take several safety precautions in light of the virus:

First, it’s important to recognize that state-by-state and federal guidelines are changing quickly, even on a daily basis in some cases. So, stay up to date on the guidelines regulated by your local government.

Second, while still in operation, moving companies, including our team at Move Eaze, are taking precautions to protect from infection.

Chief of all, movers are working to properly social distance (maintain at least 6 feet of space between yourself and others) throughout the moving process.

Keep in mind that health and safety should remain your top priority. Therefore, if it is necessary for you or someone if your family to isolate because of exposure to the virus, do so.

Other measures to help mitigate the risk of spreading the virus include 1) avoid handshakes, 2) eliminate any unnecessary in-person meeting (for example, discuss moving estimates over the phone and replace on-site moving surveys with virtual video surveys), 3) wash hands frequently (and in general, practice good hygiene), 4) movers should use gloves and hand sanitizer during the course of the move, and 5) use only new cardboard boxes.

Third, if you plan to move into an apartment or other rental property, call the property owner to ensure that they have not delayed or in some way altered plans or requirements for your move-in.

Finally, note that the Department of Defense has paused military moves until mid-May. For more information on this military mandate, see the following article.
