Deep winter loosens right up, and a few days’ notice is frequently enough; we keep the trucks dug out and salted, so a January booking still happens on schedule, lake-effect snow and all. And during a slower week when a crew has a gap, even a same-week call can usually slot onto the board.
Is there a move your crew turns down?
We cover all of the Michiana area — South Bend, Mishawaka, and the Notre Dame region — South Bend and Mishawaka, Granger and Notre Dame, Osceola, Roseland, on out toward Elkhart and Goshen — plus the long runs down the Indiana Toll Road and US-31, south to Florida, west into Chicago, or over to Grand Rapids and Detroit. Every job carries $1M of cargo liability, and you can layer full-value protection on top, which typically runs 1–3% of the figure you declare. Our crews are bonded and covered by both general liability and workers’ comp. The moment a Notre Dame dorm, a downtown loft above the river, or a Granger HOA wants a COI in their hands before they release the dock or the freight elevator, Megan has it filed with the building ahead of whatever cutoff they name.
Do I need to be present for the entire move?
Having you on hand for both the load and the unload does help, especially when a campus building or downtown loft needs someone to sign in at the dock, but if the day slips away from you, a trusted neighbor or relative can step in with no trouble at all. Whoever winds up on site, the crew labels each item as it goes onto the truck and checks that same list back off as every piece is carried indoors.
If my plans shift, does rescheduling or canceling cost anything?
Give us 48 hours’ notice or more to cancel and you owe nothing, full stop. Sliding to a different day is free as well, provided a crew is available when you need one. That said, month-end, the August campus rush, and summer dates vanish fast around Michiana, so the sooner you get in touch, the better your chances of keeping the window you were counting on.
What payment methods do you take?
Settle up however works best for you — Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and Discover, plus debit, a certified check, or plain cash, are all welcome here. Holding the date costs you nothing up front. The balance only comes due at delivery, once you have looked the load over and signed off — not a minute sooner than that.
What if something gets damaged along the way?
Standard released-value coverage at $0.60/lb rides along on every job at no extra cost. Spot something amiss? Flag it for the crew chief before the truck pulls off and it goes onto that day’s inventory right then, with the bulk of claims settled comfortably inside the roughly nine-month window we keep open. Trusting us with an heirloom, a piano, or anything you could not bear to lose? Add full-value protection, in the neighborhood of 1–3% of the amount you declare, and it travels with a lot more cushion behind it.
